This JERK CHICKEN CALZONE RECIPE is like a folded pizza that has cheeses in it, Spicy and Sweet Jerk chicken, colored peppers and red onions, and DivineKuizine jerk sauce all wrapped up and baked to golden perfection.

This Jerk chicken calzone recipe is tasty and very easy to make. Great to slice up for a party or Sunday football. Serve with DivineKuizine Jerk Sauce for dipping sauce. Calzones, which are basically just pizzas folded into half-moons, are particularly awesome because they can handle a little more ooey-gooeyness than your standard pizza. They are my go-to when I’m craving something drippy and cheesy that I can’t eat with my hands or fork and knife.

Homemade Jerk Chicken Calzone Recipe

Calzone Filling

  • ▢4 ounces fresh Mozzarella ,shredded

  • ▢2 ounces Italian Blend, shredded

  • ▢⅔- 1 cup  DivineKuizine Jerk sauce

  • ▢1 8-ounce ball pizza dough , (click the link for homemade ) or store-bought

  • ▢all-purpose flour , as needed 

Garlic Butter

  • 1/2 cup butter melted

  • 1 tsp garlic paste

  • handful fresh parsley

  • 1/2 tsp DivineKuizine sugar spice

  • pinch red pepper flakes

  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper

In a bowl add all ingredients listed under “garlic butter” mix thoroughly and set aside.

Marinate Jerk Chicken 

  • 1/2 pound of chicken tenders or 1 chicken breast

  • 1 teaspoon complete seasoning ,onion and garlic powder , salt and pepper

  • 2-3 teaspoon of DivineKuizine jerk rub/seasoning In a bowl add chicken tenders season with olive oil, complete seasoning, DivineKuizine Jerk seasoning/rub , onion and garlic powder , salt and pepper. Combine seasoning altogether until well combined. In a pan over medium heat add olive oil , chicken and cook on both sides until thoroughly cooked. Set to the side to cool. Chopped into bite size pieces.

Sauté Peppers and Onions

  • 3 bell peppers, preferably a mix of colors, thinly sliced

  • 1 jalapeno

  • 1/2 red onion , thinly sliced

  • teaspoon salt, cayenne pepper, garlic and onion powder

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • teaspoon DivineKuizine sugar spice

Add 2 tablespoons oil to a heavy pot set over medium, and sauté bell peppers, jalapeno with red onions until peppers are barely softened, about 4 minutes. Add teaspoon DivineKuizine sugar spice, salt, cayenne pepper, garlic and onion powder and garlic ; cook until it’s fragrant, about another minute.


  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Using a baking sheet.

  • Floured board, then roll out pizza dough, I bought store bought pizza dough from the deli that was already rolled out.

  • Roll out using a rolling pin into an 8-inch circle, about ¼" thick.

  • Brush the pizza dough evenly with the garlic herb butter

  • Spread DivineKuizine jerk sauce , and cheeses

  • On one side of the pizza dough add  jerk chicken , peppers and onions mixture , and dollop of DivineKuzine jerk rub /seasoning and more cheese in top leaving a  ½-inch border. 

  • Fold the dough over and pinch to seal the edges of the calzone. If desired, make a slit in the calzone using a sharp knife.

  • Lightly brush the dough with garlic butter,

  • Bake until golden brown and cooked through for 18 to 20 minutes. Serve with DivineKuizine Jerk Sauce.
