Apple Cheddar Bread

Updated: Oct 13, 2020

I love sweet breads. I love savory breads. But you combined sweet and savory breads together and you have a winner! Bacon apple cheddar bread is the essential quick bread recipe for the fall season. A classic combination of sweet and savory flavors that will have your taste buds dancing. It’s great by itself, but I’m also envisioning it toasted as sandwich bread. Try this bread sandwiched with ham and apple slices, or cut it into cubes and toast it to make croutons for salads and soups. The sweet tartness of the apples complements the saltiness of the cheddar. I used my Apple Fritter Mix as my dry ingredients and a must try. This quick and easy recipe will have you make all .

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ Cup Divine Kuizine Apple Fritter Mix

  • 1 tbsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp ground red pepper

  • 4 thick bacon slices cooked and crumbled

  • 1 cup peeled and diced Granny Smith Apple

  • ¾ cup shredded extra sharp cheddar

  • ¾ cup of  glazed chopped pecans (4 tbsp butter, pinch of salt, 4 tbsp of Divine Kuizine sugar spice)

  • 1 tbsp chopped rosemary

  • 3 large eggs

  • ⅓ cup heavy cream

  • ⅓ cup canola oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together DivineKuizine Apple Fritter mix and next 3 ingredients in a large bowl until thoroughly combined. Stir together bacon and next 4 ingredients in a medium bowl. Whisk together eggs, heavy cream, and oil in a small bowl

  • Add egg mixture to DivineKuizine mixture, and stir just until dry ingredients are moistened; stir in bacon mixture just until incorporated. Transfer dough to a greased (canola oil) and floured 8 ½ - x 4 ½ - inch loaf pan

  • Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes to 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean , shielding bread with aluminum foil after 40 to 45 minutes to prevent excessive browning. Cool bread in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool 30 minutes before slicing.
