Jerk Chicken Wrap with Caribbean

Jerk Chicken Wrap Caribbean Slaw

Prep time: 20 minutes + marinade time


Cook time: 15 minutes


Servings: 4 wraps

Ingredients

For the chicken: Marinate

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts and thighs

  • 2-3 teaspoons of DivineKuizine jerk seasoning, depending on your heat preference

  • teaspoon salt, complete seasoning, seasoned pepper, onion powder, garlic powder

  • 2 teaspoon green seasoning

  • 2-3 teaspoon olive oil

Combine all ingredients with the chicken and let it marinate overnight or at least 1 hour, if time permits.


Prepare Caribbean Slaw:

  • Cup of DivineKuizine Remouldae Sauce

  • 1/4 cup of red, yellow, orange pepper ,julienne

  • 1 jalapeño deseed , julienne

  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 bag of coleslaw

  • 2 tablespoon of DivineKuizine Sugar Spice

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • teaspoon onion powder, seasoned pepper, cayenne powder and salt

Coat all ingredients well, cover, and chill for 1 hour.


Fried Ripe Plantains :

  • 6-7 ripe plantains frozen

    Heat the oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the plantain slices into the skillet- working in batches, careful not to overcrowd. Fry the plantains until golden brown and slightly crisp, about 2-3 minutes on each side. gently flip the plantains while frying; careful not to handle them too aggressively as they’re super tender.

Assemble the wraps:

  1. Heat the tortillas in the skillet used for cooking the jerk chicken for 30 seconds on each side until they become pliable.

  2. Lay a tortilla on a clean surface and spread the DivineKuizine jerk sauce and remoulade mixture

  3. Top with slices of jerk chicken, and a generous scoop of the slaw and 2 -3 plantains.

  4. Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it tightly from the bottom to create a wrap.

  5. Cut the wrap in half diagonally and serve immediately.
