McDonald's Inspired FISH-o- FILET SANDWICH

Let's make the famous Filet-O-Fish Sandwich from McDonald's. A crispy flakey fried fish filet with a delicious tartar sauce and cheese sandwiched in between the softest buns. So skip the drive-thru next time and make it on your own with ten times the amount of flavor!

This inspired McDonald’s Filet -o- Fish Sandwich is crispy and topped with best tartar sauce , DivineKuizine remoulade sauce fresh dill and lemon for some tanginess and freshness. This sandwich comes together in just about twenty minutes. Cod is the best fish to use for this. It’s light and flaky but thick. It takes breading well. This homemade inspired filet o fish recipe is fried golden brown. Covered in tangy tartar sauce and a slice of cheese, this version tastes even better than the classic McDonald's favorite! PREP TIME: 15MINUTES

COOK TIME: 20 MINUTES

TOTAL TIME: 35 MINUTES

YIELDS: 4 SANDWICHES


INGREDIENTS

TARTAR SAUCE

FLOUR BREADING

  • 1cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon old bay seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, season pepper

  • 1 egg

  • 16oz ( 2 cups)club soda or beer


FOR ASSEMBLY

  • 4 Cod fish filets, lightly salted

  • 4 cheddar cheese slices

  • 4 brioche buns, toasted

  • frying oil , I used peanut oil.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

MAKE THE TARTAR SAUCE

  1. To a bowl, combine DivineKuizine remoulade sauce , fresh dill dill pickles ,fresh lemon juice .Mix together until smooth and well combined.

PREPARE THE BREADING

  1. To one bowl, combine all purpose flour, corn starch , spices , egg and club soda or beer.

  2. Dip each fish filet first in the flour batter. shake off any excess batter before placing in hot oil.

FRYING AND ASSEMBLING

  1. Heat oil to 325°F. Make sure it is not too hot.

  2. Add the filets in, making sure not to crowd them.

  3. Fry for 8 to 9 minutes until golden on the outside and fully cooked in the center.

  4. Transfer to a wire rack to drain excess oil

  5. To one of the buns add a slice cheese and toast in the oven.

  6. To toasted buns ;add to the bun with no melted cheese add DivineKuizine remoulade sauce. Place fish , topped with DivineKuizine remoulade sauce on the bun and place bun with cheese on top of the fish . Enjoy!
