Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini Recipe

This strawberry lemon drop martini is a delicious cocktail made with strawberry lemonade, juice and simple syrup and tequila. Simple syrup is made from equal parts water and granulated sugar. You don’t need a lot for this recipe, but it does help mellow the tartness and blend the flavours. It has a nice balance of sweet and tart complimenting each other perfectly. This is the perfect summertime cocktail.

Equipment:

• ▢Cocktail Shaker

• ▢Martini glasses
  

Ingredients:

• ▢1 cup simply lemonade with strawberry ( I used Simply)

• ▢ ice cubes

• ▢1 ounce lemon juice

• ▢1 ½ ounce simple syrup

• ▢3 ounce tequila

• ▢1 lemon slices for garnish

• ▢¼ cup granulated sugar for garnish

• ▢ 2-3 drops red food coloring

HOW TO MAKE SIMPLE SYRUP

Simple syrup is made with just 2 ingredients:

• Granulated sugar

• Water

Simply place equal parts sugar and water in a sauce pan and heat over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. Allow the sugar water to cool and then pour into a container, such as a glass jar or bottle, for storage.

Make the Martinis

• Fill a cocktail shaker half way with ice.

• Add strawberry lemonade juice, fresh squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup and tequila to the shaker.

• Place the lid on the shaker and shake until frosty and cold.

• Run a lemon wedge around the edge of the martini glasses. Pour the sugar in a shallow plate with 2-3 drops red food color and mix thoroughly together until you get a pink color , then dip the glasses in the sugar and twist to coat the rim.

• Pour the shaken martini into each glass and then garnish with a fresh lemon slices.
